Jigme Gyatso
Jigme Gyatso, 44, from Gansu Province and a former monk of
Ganden Monastery, was arrested for political reasons (probably
connected with pasting up pro-independence posters) in
1997. It is thought that Jigme is currently held in Drapchi
Prison serving at least a 15 year sentence. He is believed to
have been tortured with electric shocks over his entire body,
also to have been beaten and denied food and water for five days.
